Ticket booking and registration

Ticket bookings for motor vehicles with a gross weight of more than 3.5 tons, without a driver or for vehicles carrying goods, are made through the freight department and are subject to special tariffs. The tickets for motor vehicles used to transport passengers (cars, buses, campers, caravans, etc.) are booked through the passenger transport department.
When booking a ticket, please provide the following information:
- Size of the vehicle (length, width and height);
- Vehicle registration number;
- The need for electrical connection;
- Number of drivers;
- Information about IMO/ADR goods.
Ticket registration (check-in)
The vehicles without a driver should be at the port 1.5 hours before the ship’s departure. The vehicles with a driver should be at the port 1 hour before the ship’s departure. The vehicles arriving at the port later lose their place to vehicles on the waiting list.
At check-in, you can only pay for the ticket with a bank card.
Carriage of dangerous substances
Hazardous substances are substances that can damage health, environment or property due to their characteristics. Dangerous goods are transported on our ships in accordance with the IMDG regulations.
Notification
The transport unit carrying dangerous substances should be informed of the following when making a booking:
- Technical name of the dangerous substance (Proper Shipping Name);
- United Nations (UN) number;
- Class and package group (see section IV, clause 35 of the rules for booking and selling freight tickets).
The dangerous substance should be notified of in advance even if the goods are classified as Limited Quantities. After booking, the signed Dangerous Goods Declaration should be sent to the freight booking centre.
Ticket registration (check-in)
- When registering a ticket (at check-in), the signed and correctly completed declaration of dangerous goods should be submitted, if necessary, the original of the declaration;
- The consignor and the consignee should ensure that the transport unit is equipped with dangerous goods labels;
- The transport unit carrying limited quantities of dangerous goods should also be equipped with dangerous goods labels.
Other information
No show
Tallink Cargo imposes a no show tax, if a vehicle booked for a specific place does not arrive and is not notified in time.
The bookings for trucks and other vehicles with a driver should be cancelled no later than 1 hour before the ship’s departure, vehicles without a driver 1.5 hours before departure.
Waiting areas
The vehicles in the waiting queue are registered in the order of arrival onboard.
